Danzonn Dans Akademisi

Danzonn Dans Akademisi is a specialized dance studio and educational academy located in the vibrant Tunalı district of Ankara. Established in September 2015, the academy represents the collaborative vision of co-founders Selin Öbekci Çetin and Mehmet Çetin, who transformed their collegiate passion for dance into a long-standing professional enterprise. Both founders bring strong academic credentials alongside their extensive technical dance backgrounds: Selin Öbekci Çetin completed her degree in Business Administration with honors at Hacettepe University, while Mehmet Çetin holds dual degrees in Computer Programming from Hacettepe University and Statistics from Gazi University. With more than fifteen years of active experience delivering masterclasses, staging performances, and conducting workshops across Turkey and internationally, the founding duo established the academy to serve dancers ranging from absolute beginners to advanced performers.

Operating under the studio motto 'Ritmi bedenine taşı, Sen de katıl!', the academy functions as both an instructional center and a lively community hub for movement arts. The institution provides structured group sessions, tailored private tutoring, specialized wedding dance choreography, and private studio rentals across multiple movement disciplines, including Salsa, Bachata, and Modern Dance. Whether individuals seek to develop physical coordination, relieve daily work-related stress, prepare for a milestone celebration, or integrate into the local social dance network, Danzonn Dans Akademisi delivers a supportive, organized, and welcoming setting in central Ankara.

Activities and Facilities

Instruction at Danzonn Dans Akademisi is built upon a structured three-stage pedagogical methodology. Students advance systematically through foundational footwork and posture alignment, progress to technical partner connection and musicality, and culminate in personal styling and creative expression. The academy's curriculum covers a wide variety of partner and solo styles, guided by specialized instructors and supported by dedicated dance assistants Sezin Asena Çelik, Tuanna Aydos, and Sıla Türkoğlu.

Social Latin dances anchor the weekly timetable. Salsa sessions offer energetic footwork that promotes cardiovascular fitness, agility, and daily decompression, while Bachata courses deliver nuanced instruction in the guitar-accented, romantic partner dance native to the Dominican Republic. These Latin programs are directed by founders Selin Öbekci Çetin and Mehmet Çetin alongside instructor Kubilay Karaduman. For students pursuing contemporary and expressive genres, the studio hosts Modern Dance with Sercenk Yücel, Street Jazz with Irmak Soğuksu, High Heels technique led by Ekinsu Özcan, Open Style classes with Umutcan Tütüncü, Ladies Styling sessions, and traditional Turkish Zeybek folk dance workshops led by Halil Erdinç.

The academy provides several learning and venue formats to suit different goals:

• Group Classes: Interactive community lessons designed to teach diverse dance disciplines in a fun, social environment.
• Private Lessons: One-on-one sessions tailored to individual learning speeds, specific technical needs, and personalized milestones.
• Wedding Dance Preparation: Customized first-dance choreography created for engaged couples, with efficient routines designed within concise two-hour instructional sessions.
• Studio Rentals: Expansive, mirror-lined training halls available for hire for independent rehearsals, workshops, and private movement gatherings.

The Experience and Who It Suits

The atmosphere at Danzonn Dans Akademisi is defined by an energetic, friendly, and community-driven environment. Rather than maintaining a rigid or intimidating conservatory feel, the studio cultivates a warm and approachable setting where dancers of all skill levels feel encouraged to participate. The social dynamic allows students to interact naturally during class partner rotations and after-hours studio gatherings, establishing genuine connections and friendships through shared artistic expression.

Facility infrastructure is thoughtfully appointed to ensure maximum comfort before, during, and after intensive physical training. The academy features spacious training studios outfitted with full-length wall mirrors for visual alignment and heated climate control to maintain comfortable indoor temperatures throughout the colder months. Dancers have access to separate men's and women's changing rooms equipped with private showers, modern washrooms, and lockable individual storage lockers to keep personal belongings secure during classes. To facilitate rest and informal conversation between sessions, the premises include a dedicated cafe corner serving hot and cold beverages alongside light snacks, complemented by complimentary high-speed Wi-Fi access across the venue.

This well-equipped space accommodates a diverse spectrum of visitors:
